Things to Do in Seattle May 2021

Published:

As  Governor Inslee of Washington state prepares to roll back Coronavirus restrictions to Phase 2 for some counties, Seattleites should take comfort in the fact that there’s but a few more weeks of constant overcast skies and rain.

Though these potential rollbacks might reduce the (minimal) variety of extracurriculars that we’re just beginning to become accustomed to again, there’s still quite a lot of indoor activities that may be enjoyed on a rainy day despite the restrictions and are in compliance with the statewide orders.

1. Capture the perfect Instagram shot at the Selfie Museumlocated in Post Alley (near the infamous ‘gum wall’), the Selfie Museum offers two floors of curated sets bundled with tripods to help you get the most unique shot. Each session lasts an hour and costs $30.

2. Step into the whimsical world of  Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum: Chihuly Gardens, located in the Seattle Center, showcases the work of artist Dale Chihuly. It boasts the aesthetics of a lush arboretum, though everything is made of glass! Tickets start at $27 and may be discounted with Space Needle tickets.

3. Take a spin at  Southgate Roller RinkSummer 2020 saw the resurgence of roller skating. Reminiscent of the disco era, TikTok and Instagram were adorned with lots of young people dancing on four wheels. Though skating is not advised on wet pavement, Southgate offers both private and reduced capacity group skates throughout the week and weekend.
