Oscars Award 2021 ceremony took place on 25th April. It happened in Los Angeles after delaying for two months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Actors, directors, and filmmakers won awards for the best performances in movies and films. This award is a dream for every filmmaker and they always wish to hold the trophy. There were nominees for different genres like best picture, supporting actors and actresses, short documentaries, international feature films, original songs, animated films, leading role actors and actresses, cinematography, and director. Some other categories are film editing, production design, visual effects, screenplays, make and hairstyling, and costume design.
Chloe Zhao and Frances McDormand won Oscar for ”Nomadland”
Chloe Zhao won Oscar for directing the wonderful award-winning film ”Nomadland”. She got Academy Award for her best performance and become the first woman of color and Chinese to win an Oscar.
Nomadland was released on 19 February 2020. It is the story of a woman who lost everything in the great recession and began her journey to explore the landscape of West America meeting new people. The screenplay of the movie is marvelously directed by Chloe and the cast has given their extravagant efforts to make this film Oscar-winning.
Frances McDormand played the lead role in Nomadland and won the best actress Oscars award.
Anthony Hopkins wins Oscar for ”The Father”
Anthony Hopkins, on Sunday night, won Oscar for his performance in the drama ‘’The father’’. He played the leading role in suffering from Dementia. Anthony was not present at the ceremony, however, he felt grateful and paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman in a video recording.
Anthony is now the oldest actor to win an Academy Award for leading best actor nomination.
Daniel Kuluuya wins Oscar Award for supporting actor
Daniel Kuluuya, a British actor, won the best supporting actor award for the film ”Judas and the Black Messiah’’. The film portrays the history of black freedom, police cruelty, and protest. Daniel won his first Oscars Award at the age of 32.
