KFC Announces Relocation of U.S. Headquarters to Texas

Published:

In a significant strategic move, KFC, the globally renowned fast-food chain, has declared plans to relocate its U.S. corporate headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky, to Plano, Texas. This transition, set to occur over the next six months, will involve approximately 100 corporate roles moving to the new location.

The decision aims to consolidate KFC’s operations, as its parent company, Yum! Brands, already maintains its global headquarters in Plano. This relocation is expected to enhance collaboration and operational efficiency within the organization.

Despite the headquarters move, KFC remains committed to its roots in Kentucky. The KFC Foundation, the company’s non-profit sector, will continue its operations in Louisville. Additionally, Yum! Brands has pledged a $1 million donation to the University of Louisville’s College of Business, reinforcing its ongoing support for the local community.

This relocation aligns with a broader trend of corporations moving to Texas, attracted by favorable business conditions and a centralized location. Companies such as Chevron, Tesla, and Hewlett-Packard have also made similar moves in recent years.

As KFC embarks on this new chapter, the company emphasizes its dedication to growth and innovation while honoring its heritage in Kentucky.
