As the coronavirus situation in Pakistan worsens during the third wave of Covid-19, and the country announced 148 new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 16,600. According to the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) official statistics, 5,499 new positive cases were identified in the last 24 hours after 47,301 coronavirus tests were performed across the world.
According to official estimates, the death toll from the third wave of COVID-19 in the country has risen to 16,600, with a total number of cases reaching 772,381 and 83,162 active cases. Also, 5,488 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours globally, and taking the total number of recovered patients to 5,488.

With 276,535 cases, Punjab leads the provinces and federating units, followed by Sindh with 274,196 cases, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 108,462 Balochistan with 21,127 cases, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with 15,873 cases.
Impose new restrictions due to third wave of covid-19:
The coronavirus scenario has worsened, and prompting the NCOC to impose new restrictions to prevent the virus from spreading further.
Asad Umar, the Minister of Planning and Development, previously stated that the country’s oxygen supply capability is now being tested due to the third wave of Covid-19.
In a tweet, the federal minister stated that the number of critical care patients in the country has risen to over 4500, which is 30% higher than the peak in June last year.
Third wave is highly dangerous:
