Preacher and producer DeVon Franklin, 46, has announced his engagement to celebrity fitness trainer Maria Castillo, 29. The couple became engaged on December 27, 2024, during a romantic vacation in Maui, Hawaii. Franklin proposed during a photo shoot outside The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, surprising Castillo with a custom engagement ring designed by Carlotta Sarenas. Reflecting on the moment, Franklin shared, “Finding Maria has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life, so I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love.”
The couple met approximately a year ago through a mutual friend, trainer Mike Trusdale, who believed they would be a perfect match. Since their introduction, Franklin and Castillo have been inseparable. Castillo expressed her joy, stating, “I’m still in awe of how it all happened! It was such a beautiful surprise, and I can’t even put into words how happy I am!”
This engagement comes after Franklin’s previous marriage to actress Meagan Good, which ended in divorce in 2021 after nine years together. Franklin and Castillo are now looking forward to their future together, with wedding plans underway.
