Jake Paul and Mike Perry are officially set to face off. Despite an early scare at the weigh-ins, Paul made the cruiserweight limit at 200 pounds for their headline bout at Saturday’s Most Valuable Promotions boxing event at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Initially, Paul stepped on the scale just before the official weigh-ins began and came in at 200.4 pounds, even after stripping down and being covered by a towel. However, less than 30 minutes later, he returned to the scale under a towel and officially weighed in at 200 pounds.
Mike Perry successfully weighed in at 196.6 pounds on his first attempt. This will be Perry’s second boxing match and his first since March 2015. Paul, with a record of 9-1 and 6 KOs, is riding a three-fight winning streak, including a recent decision victory over former UFC star Nate Diaz.
In the co-main event, Amanda Serrano successfully weighed in at 136 pounds for her super lightweight bout against Stevie Morgan, who weighed 136.6 pounds. Additionally, former UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall and former WBC titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. also made weight for their bout, coming in at 199.6 and 197.8 pounds, respectively.
