Israel continues to attack Gaza with airstrikes

The conflict between Palestine and Israel is getting severe day by day. Israel continues to do airstrikes on Gaza which is a densely populated area. Hundreds of Palestinian children, women, and men lost their lives in these attacks. Moreover, many are injured as well.

The clash started when Palestinian Muslims gathered in Al Aqsa Mosque to offer prayer on the last Friday of their holy month Ramadan. A fight between Israeli Police and Palestinians emerged after Police tried to stop them from praying. Police threw stun grenades and fired rubber-coated bullets to disperse the protestors.

In retaliation, Hamas fired several rockets toward Til-Abib. Israeli defense system, iron dome, intercepted and destroyed 97% of the rockets in the air. However, some of the rockets hit the city. After this Israel started airstrikes on Gaza and the attacks are continued till now.

Now, escalation is entering the second week and Israeli forces continue airstrikes on the Gaza strip. Recently, Israel attacks Hamas Tunnels and claimed that a top commander of a Jihadi Group have been killed in the attacks. However, Hamas continues to fire rockets on different cities of Israel.

United Nations Statement on the Conflict

United Nations is trying to cool down the situation. Tor Wennesland, the UN coordinator for the Middle East peace process, said that the situation may escalate into a full-scale war. He warned in a tweet that the war situation will get worse and the results will be devastating. But, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli PM, said that the military operations against will not stop until the situation is fully under control.
