The memorial and funeral ceremony of DMX was held the previous week on 24 and 25th of April in Brooklyn, New York. Youtube and many online media channels live-streamed the ceremony.
Earl Simmons, stage name DMX, died on April 9, 2021. He was an American rapper popular because of his unique style of singing. According to media reports, DMX died at the age of 50 due to a heart attack caused by a drug overdose. His family found his dead body in his home in New York. The hospital reported to the media that the main cause of death was cardiac arrest.
DMX Funeral Ceremony
Close friends and family members attended the DMX funeral ceremony in New York. The two hours long ceremony was held at Barclays Center in New York. Only a few people were present in the ceremony as the place was not open to the public due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Remembering their father, Earl’s 15 children paid tribute and said farewell to him by singing his rap songs. Every family member made a speech to remember the good times they had with DMX. Though the place was not open to the public, thousands of fans gathered outside the hall and prayed for their hero. Also, there was a traffic jam because of the crowd outside the Barclays Center.
Eldest son of DMX, Xavier Simmons said ”Our father is an icon. Our father is a king”.
DMX was a fabulous artist and his legacy will remain always. Rest in Peace!
